CEDZ provides ¡°ten connections and one leveling¡± including power, telecom, internet, steam, gas, industrial gas, sewage, drainage, water, road, which are layed beneath the road.

 

Changshu is a power base of east China with 3 big power plants (2 are in operation), the total installed capacity is 5 million KWH. There are two 220kv substations and three 110kv substations in CEDZ. Stable power supply can be guaranteed. One regular maintenance each year, companies will be informed one month ahead.

 

Two water plants in CEDZ with a daily supply capacity of 1,000,000 tons.

 

The daily treatment capacity of CEDZ Sewage Treatment Plant (phase one) is 30,000 tons, total daily capacity is 60,000 tons, which accepts industrial waste-water reaching Grade 3 of Integrated Waste Water Discharge Standard of China. The used capacity is 4,000 ton/day.

 

Natural gas pipe is available in CEDZ with a supply pressure 1.6Mpa (adjustable to company requirement) Companies in CEDZ can be guaranteed with gas supply.

 

Air Liquid, the French industrial gas producer, has an on-site facility in the zone that provides various types of industrial gases including hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and chlorine, etc.

 

Telecom cable, steam pipe, drainage pipe are ready in place.

 

Changshu has 86,000 professional and technical practitioners and 380,000 skilled workers. Every year there are over 8,000 new graduates from universities, colleges and vocational schools seeking job opportunities in Changshu.

 

The CEDZ Labor Bureau has a well-organized and proven recruitment mechanism designed to assist foreign companies in CEDZ. Its services are offered free of charge.  

Major technical school are: Changshu Vocational School and Binjiang Vocational School Graduates major in electronics in 2007: 761 (College), 600 (technical school), 500 electronics graduates come to Changshu to seek job annually. CEDZ has made cooperative agreement with the following schools: Changzhou Machinery and Electronics Technical School, Changzhou Light Industry Technical School, Yancheng Normal College, Wuhu Machinery and Electronics Technical School. They provide over 2000 graduates to Changshu each year.

 

CEDZ has established a cooperative agreement with CIT which has been in effect for over three years. Based on this agreement, CIT is the HR training base for CEDZ enterprises, and CEDZ is a field practice center for CIT students. Every year, CEDZ provides advice to the Institute on the establishment of new courses and the appropriate enrollment numbers for each department, based on enterprises¡¯ specific recruitment demands.

Regularly CEDZ organizes meetings between CIT and companies who are interested in obtaining local talent support through cooperation with CIT. Many companies in CEDZ, like American Axle & Manufacturing, UPM-Kymmene, Swagelok, and FMC Technologies have launched training programs jointly with CIT.

 

It is invested by CEDZ with RMB100 million to provide worker and training to companies in the zone. It is located in Riverside New City covering 90,000m2 of land. There are 3,000 students on campus. Major courses provided: Electronics, Machinery, and New Material. CEDZ will assist the company to make cooperative program with the school.
